(International)–Meanwhile, an evangelical mission organization says indigenous Christians are taking a more active role in the Great Commission. That’s the word from Send International’s Personnel Director Jeff Witaker. “What we’re seeing is the work of missions come full circle. Where we have historically been involved in planting churches and continuing to do that, we’re seeing those churches now join with us as full partners in sending missionaries – sending disciples out with Send to other unreached areas.” According to Witaker, these new missionaries are, many times, more effective than Christians from the west. “The demands of our world today are so great that the North American church alone can’t respond and yet in places where the church is growing tremendously – in Asia, Latin America – these are people who can step in and serve along side and meet the tremendous needs.” Pray that God will move many more to go to the field, especially to unreached areas of the world.
