Story number 5 for 9 Nov 2000

By November 9, 2000

And, New Tribes Mission reports that a tribe in Haia (HY-ya), Papua New Guinea is thrilled to have their own translation of the New Testament. About 1,000 people celebrated the dedication of the Pawaian (Puh-WY-yan) New Testament earlier this month. The work with tribe began in 1963, and has blossomed into an alphabet, literacy classes, evangelistic Bible lessons, new believers, and a New Testament, on the way to planting a Pawaian church. Please continue to pray that the work continues to grow.
