USA (MNN) — The children of the inner city are heading back to school and Here’s Life Inner City has been providing the needy with supplies as well as the Gospel message.

For many children in this environment many will head off to school without any school supplies and some will carry items in a plastic grocery bag. New backpacks can have a huge impact on young people and their families.

The group partners with area churches for their annual “PowerPack” outreach. Each backpack contains school necessities as well as a “Book of Hope” that shares the story of Jesus and the four gospels in a way that children can easily grasp.
The PowerPacks are a way for dedicated staff and volunteers to connect with the inner city’s children and their families, trangibly demonstrate concern for them, and introduce them to Christ. Almost 2,000 children are expected to be impacted by the giveaway.
Organizers say pre-ordering the items in large quantities at a lower rate helps to keep their costs down however they continue to look for people with a burden for this ministry to help keep it funded. Here’s Life Inner City is a ministry of Campus Crusade for Christ.
