Two year project raises nearly 1 million dollars.

Philippines (MNN) — It was a record-breaking two-year project for The Bible League Volunteers.

Together, the network of more than 740 volunteers helped raise $970,000 (USD) to provide Bibles for Christians in the Philippines. That’s $180,000 more than their previous record in 2004, and it was the largest amount the 44-year-old volunteer organization has raised for one country.

Thanks to this campaign, more than 242,000 Filipinos will soon have Bibles of their own. It’s The Bible League’s mission to train and equip Christians worldwide to use the Bible to make disciples and establish new churches. And they do that, in part, by helping resource the Church with Bibles.

Not only did the project seek to raise funds, but the volunteer network helped educate their churches about the Bible League’s ministries around the world.

The Bible League Volunteers’ next project will benefit those in Mexico, with a goal to raise more than $1 million by August of 2008. Contact The Bible League if you’d like to donate to this fund or if you’re interested in becoming a volunteer.
