Women’s Conference to revitalize

By January 24, 2017

United States (MNN) — We’ve all been there — we’ve been so busy with our jobs, our family, even our church that we can’t remember the last time we’ve taken a moment to sit back and think about the big picture our lives fit into. Instead, we are just plain tired. Women, if this sounds familiar, listen up.

This conference for women is focusing on strengthening your walk with God and encouraging your part in his mission.

Wycliffe Bible Translators USA is hosting a women’s conference in Orlando, Florida this March that’s aimed to renew that pep in your step with reminders from Scripture. The conference is based off of Wycliffe’s Women of the Word Program.
Kristie Frieze of Wycliffe USA fills us in:

“We are really excited about this conference for women. We’re calling it the ‘Re: [Conference]’ — so you can refresh your spirit, renew your strength, revive your soul, and rewrite your story.”

The conference takes place on March 17 and 18 and includes inspirational speakers as well as a time of worship.

The first speaker is Annie F. Downs. She is an author of several Christian books that focus on remembering God’s presence in our everyday life. You may have read her books, Looking for Lovely, Speak Love, or Perfectly Unique.

The second speaker for the weekend is Chrystal Evans Hurst. She is also an author as well as a blogger who is dedicated to helping women embrace their life as children of God.

Seth and Nirva will be leading the group in worship.

Frieze says this conference has a dual purpose — one, to refresh women in their walk with God; and two, to get them excited and exposed to the translation work God is doing to bring His Word to women all around the world.

Frieze says, “This is the first time we have done anything like this, and the key reason for us is Wycliffe’s Women of the Word. Our program is to connect women with Scripture and their role in God’s mission around the world. And when we think about how Scripture has changed and impacted our lives in the versions we get to read it in, we just want to ensure women around the world have the opportunity to hear God’s Word in their heart language.“

We all need reminders of why we are here, what our purpose is, and how we can better serve God. And when we live our lives in this focus, the people around us can see a difference. Our focused lives become a testimony to the faith we’ve received through Jesus.

Frieze says everyone is looking for ways to get through their day, and women who are leaning on Jesus can share that with others.

So, are you wondering if this conference is for you?

“If you’re a woman, I think it’s for you. It doesn’t matter what age you are, these two authors speak to various ages and all kinds of talents, and so I think it is for you. If you need to be refreshed and renewed, if you need time in God’s Word, if you need to revive your soul and think about your story and think about the story of women around the world and how you can be a part of that, this conference is for you.”
