10th annual day of prayer for children at risk is approaching

By April 7, 2005

International (MNN/Viva) — This year is the 10th World Wide Day of Prayer for Children at Risk – a time to thank God for his faithfulness in hearing our prayers and bringing change in children’s lives. It’s also a time to keep praying for the 1.2 billion children around the world who continue to suffer.

The Viva Network is asking Christians to participate on 4th June for this prayer effort as they remember the street children, AIDS orphans, child soldiers, the sexually exploited, child laborers, and those who go hungry every day…and cry out to God for their release and healing. More importantly, pray that these little ones will come to know Christ as their Savior.

The Viva Network is a global movement of Christians passionately concerned for ‘children at risk,’ committed to every child having the opportunity to become all that God intends.

The event is designed with the local church in mind. It can be something in which all ages can participate.

A prayer booklet is available from www.viva.org/wwdp, in a variety of formats and languages. The resources include information on the issues facing children in each region of the world, stories, prayer suggestions and children’s activities, to help everyone to pray.

Posters and a DVD presentation for prayer events will also soon be available from the Viva website – check their resources from mid-April to download these free of charge.

If you plan to participate or would like more information go to www.viva.org/wwdp.
