Venezuela (MNN)–Venezuela is a country of striking natural beauty and dramatic contrasts.

A dramatic coup this spring and an economic plunge stirred up unrest in the area, making it a difficult time for area churches.

The longstanding difficulties aside, a Global Missions Fellowship team headed for the northwest part of the country November 5th. They hope to mobilize the churches, pastors, and lay people to plant new churches in Maracaibo.

The team wraps up their work November 14th. The goal of this Church Planting Campaign is to glorify God by partnering with Venezuelan Christians to plant new churches in unreached areas.

The teams worked in personal evangelism and discipleship, public outdoor evangelistic meetings, and open-air street ministry. As the trip draws to a close, the team hopes their work will have a long lasting impact on the area and the local church.
