Norwegians Encourage Albanian Women

Albania (MNN/TWR) — In Albania’s male-oriented culture, women face various difficulties-from poverty and unemployment to domestic violence, from disease to family tragedies. In spite of all this, they don’t give up.

Many are receiving encouragement from Trans World Radio’s Project Hannah ministry in the country through Women of Hope broadcasts and prayer groups.

Recently, TWR-Europe’s Albanian partner, Valet Ungjillit (Gospel Waves) hosted a group of potential Project Hannah (PH) supporters from Norway.

“We were strongly impressed by their faith and hope,” says a Norwegian couple after a visit to the poorest Gypsy area near Albania’s capital, Tirana.

The trip also included attendance of a women’s prayer meeting and a performance by Norwegian artists. More than 500 Albanian citizens, Christians and invited politicians listened and celebrated the One who makes all things possible.

“We are happy to see somebody came to listen to our needs and stories and to support us with prayers,” remarked one PH prayer partner. Many of the Norwegian visitors expressed an interest in supporting Project Hannah in the future.

Project Hannah is TWR’s ministry to hurting and abused women around the world. Pray that as a result many women will feel the love and compassion of Christ and would eventually come to Christ.
