Play helps aid growth in poverty-stricken India.

India (MNN)–Seven Compassion International-assisted neighborhoods in East India are now adding the value of play to safety.

It’s a mission to bring hope and fun into the lives of thousands of street-working children who scrape a living.

There are nearly 1200 children attending their centers in and around Kolkata, one of India’s most neglected regions.

The places these projects serve have few government schools and lack infrastructures, educational resources or safe play areas necessary to children’s healthy development.

Between donations and elbow grease, church partners are putting in both playground equipment and some security measures to ensure the play areas’ safety.

It’s a hands-on ministry that shows the love of Christ to those who may not otherwise understand it.
