Southeast Asia (MNN) — Over 2.5 billion people worldwide – a third of us – have never heard about Jesus. More about that here.
A large ethnic group in Southeast Asia may be the next to encounter Christ for the very first time. MNN cannot name this group for security purposes, but John Pudaite of Bibles For The World says, “We have an opportunity to reach an unreached people group of about 880,000 [people]; they’re spread out over parts of Southeast Asia.”
He adds, “we’re able to print the gospel of John” in this people group’s language.
“The amount of printing we’ll be doing, and distribution, will hit almost every single household in this people group.”
Bibles For The World is a member of the Alliance for the Unreached. By describing Gospel opportunities like this one in Southeast Asia, Alliance members hope believers like you will take action.
“I want to encourage [readers] to join with us in the Alliance because this is our passion – reaching these unreached people. We know that this Gospel of the Kingdom will be preached as a witness unto all nations,” Pudaite says.
The first step is pretty easy. Help raise awareness by drawing three lines on your hand. When people ask, tell them what you’ve learned: a third of us have no access to Jesus.
Then, connect them with Alliance members so they can take further action as God leads.
“It’s been a joy to be part of the Alliance for the Unreached because you see the body of Christ in these different ministries coming together – each of them with their respective skills, gifts, and callings from God – to plug in and be a part of reaching the unreached,” Pudaite says.
“Our role has been providing Scripture [and] looking for strategic distribution opportunities. [The opportunities] may be in print form, it may be audio; it could be electronic, even flannel graph.”
