(Israel)–Headlining today’s news, as violence continues to plague Israel and the Palestinian areas of the country, American Christians are doing what they can to share the hope of Christ. Erich Bridges reports from Gaza. “More than a million Palestinians live in Gaza and about 100,000 of them are packed into this one camp called Jebalia. You can find Hamas, Islamic Jihad and other militant Muslim groups here, but mostly, you find families here — families who are hungry, afraid and in deep need of peace. That’s why you will also find Southern Baptist volunteers here, helping Palestinian Christians share bags of basic food supplies. In fact, it’s called, “Project Future and Hope”. Volunteers will visit up to 1,200 families this summer to tell people they care and God cares. And, when it comes from American volunteers who have laid aside their own fears and worries to come here, the message carries hope and power. In Gaza, this is Erich Bridges for Mission Network News.”
