Doctors may be the key to the unreached in Nigeria.

Nigeria (MNN) — Dr. Deli Boyo, a Nigerian medical doctor, has a mission. The mission is to disciple medical professionals to go to unreached people groups with the Gospel within their country. The Bridge International is taking an active part in funding this unique outreach.

It’s almost impossible to go as full time Christian missionaries to fundamentalist Islamic regions where proselytizing is a capital crime. Serving the population through puclic health prevention is an acceptable profession which gives open entrance into these unreached tribes in the hinterland of Nigeria.

There are two major threats to Africa’s Christian community: the acceleration of the spread of AIDS, which is killing millions, and the rapid spread of Islam.

Pray for these brave families. Pray too that funding will be available to help support this outreach.
