By March 23, 2005

USA (MNN/JVPA) — JESUS Video Project America, a ministry of Campus Crusade for Christ International (CCCI), will distribute its 20 millionth copy of the famous JESUS film one for every six homes in America during communitywide outreach projects Easter week, March 21-25, the ministry announced today.

The 20 millionth copy will be distributed in Bozeman, MT, or Canfield, OH. There are approximately 122 million households in the United States, according to JVPA.

“This is indeed an historic milestone for JESUS Video Project America and for Campus Crusade,” said Steve Douglass, CCCI president. “The 20-million mark speaks to the continued power of the JESUS film to touch lives, as well as to the ongoing hunger of this nation to hear, understand and respond to the Good News of Jesus Christ. We thank God for His blessings, and we continue to seek to reach every home in America with JESUS.”

JVPA is commemorating the event with discount prices and a two-for-one purchase offer on JESUS DVDs at www.jesusvideo.org or toll-free 1-888-JESUS-36 (888-537-8736).

JESUS Video Project America, founded in 1992 by the late Dr. Bill Bright, identifies Christians with a heart for evangelism and equips them to build teams to use its “saturation evangelism” strategy to distribute copies of the JESUS movie in video or DVD to every household in their community, county, region or state. Distribution campaigns are followed by discipleship efforts to connect people to local churches and faith-building resources. JVPA also provides copies of JESUS to churches and ministries for use in personal and neighborhood evangelism.

The JESUS Film Project says JESUS is the most watched movie in history, translated into 888 languages, shown in 228 countries and viewed almost 6 billion times worldwide.

JVPA released its U.S. edition of JESUS in DVD last year. The DVD features the digitally remastered film in nine languages on the same disk, a free second movie the popular “The Story of Jesus for Children” as well as an “Insider’s Commentary.”

JVPA calls JESUS “a great companion to The Passion of the Christ,” giving viewers “the rest of the story” Jesus’ entire life and ministry plus an opportunity to pray for salvation and be connected to a local church.

JVPA unveiled a partnership plan at the recent National Religious Broadcasters convention that can help broadcasters and publishers “fulfill their spiritual mandate” and generate contributions or advertising revenue, while helping the ministry fulfill its mission.
