(Tajikistan)–Headlining today’s news, as the Taliban have been ousted from power in Afghanistan, Tajik Christians are strategizing an evangelistic effort. Bible Mission International’s Malcolm Smith says they want to reach the displaced Tajik Afghan with the Gospel. “The churches in Tajikistan have a vision to plant new churches. When they have the refugees talking about going home, that presents a paramount opportunity to the churches to go back and minister to the people once they’re back in Afghanistan.” Smith says because of the food shortage, they’re using relief assistance to make new friends. “For six dollars a person we’re hoping to reach 1,000 people with each container of food and clothes that will be accompanied with Gospel literature. And, (it) gives the church a chance then to share the Gospel with people.” Call our resource line to find out how you can help.
