(Latin America) — To help raise consciousness among Christians concerning children at risk, the Latin America Mission-related ministry, Viva Network, is organizing a worldwide day of prayer. LAM’s Ken MacHarg reports: “Of all children born today, around 80% live in parts of the world where there is extreme poverty. These children suffer from exploitation, sickness, malnourishment, abandonment or war. Christian organizations together make up the largest body working with these children at risk. Many missionaries with the Latin America Mission are supporting the day of prayer on June 2 as they work with children on the streets of Quito, Mexico City, Caracas, Tijuana and other cities. To obtain a packet of information on children at risk and how you can participate in the day of prayer, go to www.viva.org. For Mission Network News, I’m Ken MacHarg.”
